Wolverine 3: What to Expect

Hugh Jackman teases his last portrayal of Wolverine in Wolverine 3

Whilst promoting his latest movie, Pan, Hugh Jackman has sat down and spoken with Collider to discuss what people can expect from the third and final Wolverine movie.

Here’s what he had to say.

The important question came first: where are we up to on Wolverine 3? Jackman was very candid about the answer. Perhaps as to not to invite very many questions he couldn’t really answer.

“I’ll be really honest with you, the actual script in its full form we’re up to about page 60,” Jackman admitted.

The next question was one I REALLY wanted to know the answer to: What was Patrick Stewart’s role in the movie as Professor X. News broke some time ago that Patrick Stewart would play a large role in the movie, but what role, nobody knew for sure.

Us geeks were excited about it though. I mean, everybody LOVES Patrick Stewart…right?

“Patrick does figure in it that’s for sure. I think it’s a really important relationship but I want to see signs of that quasi-father/son sort of relationship that has not been seen before, and sides of particularly Professor X that have not been seen before. So we have some really, really cool ideas”.

But Jackman has conceded that leaving the role behind will be tough, BUT he has an…interesting coping mechanism in place.

“I feel that I’m pushing harder than I’ve ever pushed before. I suppose the stakes just go up when you announce before your last season that this is your last season, you don’t want one game to not be your best… People ask me ‘how are you gonna be able to let it go?’ To me the only way you can let it go is if you left blood every day on the studio floor”.

That’s one way of doing it. The other is to just carry on playing the role? Forever?…said the fanboy, eagerly.

“I’m trying to do something with this that’s a little special, a little different”, Jackman added, saying that “I’ve got a very, very strong idea of hat that it. I really have known for quite a long time how I want to finish this sort of odyssey that I’ve been on, this amazing journey”.

James Mangrove is set to return to direct the third and final Jackman led Wolverine movie, which is currently scheduled for release at some point in 2017.

TL;DR
