Supercrooks to get a Sequel

Supercrooks to get a sequel

Did you catch Mark Millar’s Supercrooks comic books? The first arc was absolutely epic, but guess what?

There’s a sequel on the way.

This is the Supercrooks comic book this article is referring to. If you haven’t read it yet, in my humble opinion, it’s a comic book essential. You seriously need to read it.

What is Supercrooks?

For those of you who have never heard of it, Supercrooks was a totally awesome mini series written by Mark Millar (author of the original Marvel Civil War, Kick Ass and Secret Service aka Kingsman to name a few).

It centre’s around a group of downtrodden supercrooks who realise that crime might pay better in Europe, since the superhero population is much lower. Then, when one of their own gets in deep with a mob boss, they have little choice but to go for it.

Sounds epic, doesn’t it? That’s because it definitely is. If you haven’t read it yet, then do so. It’s one of Millar’s best (in my opinion).

ANYWAY, the series ended pretty definitively, but since Millar secured movie rights for Supercrooks (and American Jesus) there was an announcement yesterday that both titles will be getting a sequel.

Awesome sauce.

“I have five arc planned,” said Millar about Supercrooks. “The stars never quite aligned for [Yu and I] and he was always in the middle of a contract when I was free and vice versa. But we decided we’d definitely do this about six months ago and I’m writing it over summer once all my current commitments are done.”

Wait, so now we might be getting FIVE books??? That’s awesome!!!

The second outing for Supercrooks will be entitled Supercrooks: Bounty Hunter and the cover for the book looks epic (as does American Jesus for that matter). Check it out:

I seriously cannot wait for the second comic book arc or the movies for each of these titles. But I have to say, Supercrooks was my ultimate favourite of Millars.
